Parrot Care ClassesTARA conducts Parrot Care classes on a monthly basis, both for those who are interested in adopting a bird and for those who already have companion parrots and who want reliable information on how to best care for their birds. The classes are conducted on weekends, start at 10 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m., with a one-hour break for lunch. The tuition is $45 for one person or an entire family, no matter how many people from your family attend. If any members of your family can't attend the first class, they can attend a later class at no additional charge.Dates for Parrot Care classes in 2010 are posted on our registration form. In order to avoid wasting the time of the volunteers who conduct the Parrot Care classes (because of no-shows), we require that all those who want to take a Parrot Care class register and pay the registration fee at least one week in advance of the class they plan to take. To facilitate this process, we now have a mail-in registration form, which lists classes for the remainder of the year. Those who want to adopt or foster a bird must take a Parrot Care class, as TARA will not place birds with those who have not taken Parrot Care. For information on upcoming classes, call 747-0554. |
